Some Notes about this Web Site and its Author

Last updated on February 4, 2006 .

This web site is a project I'd been planning to execute for months. The little movies of myself, shot by my girlfriend, Finita, with my Canon ZR20 DV camcorder, were the main catalyst. I like the idea of being able to publish (show off) movies on the Internet. Judging from the stares I get as I'm walking with the weights, I figure at least some people would be curious as to how to get started exercising this way.

The little movies are not the best quality, but they can download and begin playing as quickly as possible. All users (Windows and Mac) should upgrade to the latest version of QuickTime. I don't think the movies will work at all unless you have version 4 or later. If you click here: http://www.apple.com/quicktime, you will get a chance to upgrade your free QT player and browser plug-in. In the movies, I used the two-pound weights because I have trouble with my form when using the four- or five-pounders.

I'm an educator and a student. I recently retired from service as the Technology Facilitator in Franklin Elementary School in Trenton, New Jersey. Early in 2003 I completed my Master of Education degree. I enjoy hacking around on my Macintosh G5 and watching baseball.

If you decide to try walking with weights, I would like to hear from you. Click my name at the bottom of one of these pages to get your mail program to send me an email.

More and more, I enjoy building web pages. Here are some recent efforts:

- Thomas Computer Services: a description of computer services I offer

- Welcome to the HTLBA Home Page: It's about lawn bowling, my other fun exercise

- Life in the Ocean Home Page: an assignment I completed as part of my Masters work

- Interactive Design Home Page: an online compendium of assignments I completed
